Our Custom Rabbit Hutch

I had a rabbit hutch built for our three rabbits since there were none good enough at any store. They have the freedom to go in and out since we have a fenced in yard, but the hutch is big enough …

Thanks for your advice! For now, we are going to stick with one bunny, but perhaps later on we shall add another to the brood.?

I love your hutch! It’s absolutely gorgeous, and your rabbits look very? happy! I am just getting a rabbit this next weekend-he’s a Holland Lop baby, very cute and sweet, but his hutch is certainly not that large!! haha I hope he doesn’t get lonely by himself. My original plan was to have two, but the breeder said that two males will fight to death, and two females may not get along when the hormones kick in. Male and female would mate, you know. Will he be okay with the attention I give him?

Two is better than one. You are most likely going to be sleeping and working 16 hours a day, and since rabbits are very social your rabbit should have a companion. For health reasons all rabbits should be spayed or neutered. It prevents a lot of illnesses! Two males that are paired at an early age will usually bond, especially if neutered. All three of the rabbits in the video are? male and are extremely close. Male and female is best, just get them fixed:)

Rabbits are very social. If you give him lots of attention then he is probably not lonely. However, if you are gone to work 8 hours a day, asleep 8 hours a day, then there is a good chance he is lonely. My inside rabbit Pete was bonded with me and follows me around the house, but I still got him a little tiny rabbit as a friend so that? he wouldn’t be alone when I’m not around or when I’m asleep. It’s worked out great!

They are all neutered. Before they were neutered they got a long “okay” but not the best. They? were always trying to mate with one another, which is impossible, and were always getting very irritated with the others’ attempts.
